There's a town south of me here- Grangeville. It's pronounced Grangeville.

I always wondered how the old timers came up with the name Gospel Hump — that’s south of you as well

 

I spent a year there one summer!

 

Then there's Weippe, Kamiah, Kooskia, Noseeum Cr., Dubois, Owyhee, Picabo, Shoshone, Moscow, ..............I can see how non-natives might mis-pronounce those. No mis-pronouncing Athol though!

 

That's over by Buffalo Hump and Hump Lake, big fire over that way last year.

Pend Oreille is a good one. The northern gang could probably get that one right, eh?

 

I still have to check myself when spelling Coeur D'alene, but everybody knows how to pronounce it anyway.
