On Tuesday a friend of mine lost his life while behind the wheel in West Texas. The phone numbers in his wallet were for this 86 year old mother and myself. I called my attorney at that time to cross the T's and dot the I's. While I have legal custody of the child, the state of Texas always wants to check things out. In doing so, the child may not leave the state until this is settled. (So much for the Mayo Clinic next week. I am attempting to have my appointment moved to the Austin Clinic, but so far, no luck.)

His grandmother signed off all rights to the child with understandings of how the child would be raised, educated and family visits with her. All of this had been agreed to on previous documents. (His father was hispanic, so I I needed to brush up on my Spanish as he is suppose to be raised using both languages. Cajun to be added just to confuse the issue.)

As we all know, I am not a spring chicken, and it concerns me that I will be physically capable to raise this child. Son #2 and his wife, who has joined us down here, are thinking about taking him and raising him. #2 son and child get along great. I think after being allowed to morn his father he would attach himself to #2 son and #2's son wife. They are both willing to stay here until the bond has been made. If it doesn't happen, then he is already home.

Funeral is Monday so we have to go get a suit for the little man.

Sure hate hearing this! Although it’s a big negative, the positive is he has someone to care for him…..

I think Matchett got swallowed up in the same buying spree Robinsons did. Paul’s went wild there for a while. I used to get tangled up in the Pauls and WestCan hammer heads pretty regular. The red army were weapons on controlled road. I was going in to the mine at Cadomin with a load of ammonium nitrate prills one time and was a little startled to meet a Paul’s b-train coming out. Little adrenaline rush now and again never hurt anyone I guess.

Might be time to split up that team you can depend on. Send one of them #’s to round up the boy while you go to the Mayo. That may have become a little more important just now.

The boy is here in East Texas.
Every time I sit down he crawls up on my lap. So he is not ready to be abandoned at this time.

My motto has always been kids first.

We have been requested to go back to West Texas and pack up his Dad"s apartment. After careful thought we will do that tomorrow. Son as we don't he will ask for something simple. I know after my husband was killed. I wanted a short he had worn so I could smell him again. I will do not less for a 8 year old.

Little man looks very dapper in his new suit. Even has a fedora in his size.

Just bear in mind you have to look after you before you can look after anyone else is all. That’s not being selfish it’s just being practical. I hope everything works out well for all.
