Lol…. Lost all my Hurricane Katrina pics with my old laptop. Use to have pics of the excavator on barges being moved from mobile river bridge to the Tensaw river bridge side. Very interesting area…..

My hoisting customers machines spend a lot of time on barges. That grade profile sign is the hill down to a little port at Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive, Qc. That seems to be his go to for barging them up. One of his 18000 Manitowocs we put on a barge there has been bobbing around somewhere up in Labrador for over 3 years now.

We rebuilt because it was his parents house. We beefed up everything with a builder and architect that insisted this house wouldn't blow away. 12 feet pilings, steel under pinning on the plate and bottom of the house, steel shutters, heavy duty metal roof. Hurricane Laura laughed as she came on land right in front of the house. Took everything, sheering those new and improved pilings off at the sand level. Nothing was left, nothing.

Three months latter then Cajun Navy called to tell me they had found three framed pictures in perfect condition. Not one drop of water damage. Mother Nature, yeah, she can be a bit h.

Hubby was livid. He did get our money back, but you would not want to be on the receiving end of this ire. :angry4:
