See, I've gotten my share of heavy equipment stuck in mudholes like that. Here, all I have to worry about is an occasional snapping turtle, and I can't say I ever even ever thought of one while I was dragging chains into the muck.cke, Feedman, PoleCrusher and 4 others Thank this. -
I’m 60 and I can hang 2 sets of triples on the truck and a set of singles each of the trailers and be on my way in a half hour or forty minutes. Chaining up isn't the nightmare people make it out to be.

Had to throw chains on by myself for the first time last winter. Really was not hard, seen dad do it 100 times. Took maybe 10 minutes to put it on and go the first time.cke, PoleCrusher, jamespmack and 3 others Thank this.

Those turtles aren't to messed with either far as I'm concerned!! Wouldn't want one taking a snap off my hide..

cke, Feedman, PoleCrusher and 5 others Thank this. -
You get quicker the more you do it. In bad weather you can have them on and off 3 or 4 times a night just getting from Hongcouver to Cowgary.cke, jamespmack, MOBee and 3 others Thank this.

Good for you.
The chaining isn't the deterrent in and of itself. I don't feel it's safe to be out there. Like walking away from unnecessary trouble, avoiding riot areas, etc it's just one of those things I'd just as soon not get into, let alone get out of, which is why I track the weather so well. After clearing streets and watching the weather channel figuring out when I'm going to get to work, I'm pretty good at out running and avoiding bad weather, not trying to get into it. ...soo my point still holds for me.

Have the following questions.
What are you using as a heat/cooking source?
Where do you do this cooking, inside/outside truck?
Are you following me? Was in Vernal today as well. -
1. Cheap Coleman 20$ stove
2. Both, i'll use it inside with windows down. Beans and rice
3. Yes, i was following you. Better question. Why were you doing THAT?
