    I remember Dad getting a pager on satellite. Still had to find a phone. That was a big deal in 86. But helpful in the middle of a run. Then after get tired of calling credit cards and prepaid. He just purchased 800 number through some discount group to call the house. But then refused a cellphone till about 2010!

    Pagers. They became part of the LTL drivers uniform pretty quick. I give my guys phones, but I don’t drive them nuts with the things. Usually they text me. All I need to know is where their day started and an eta where they’re headed for so I can answer questions if I’m asked. Beyond that they know what they’re doing, me steady tormenting them isn’t going to help.

    Considering it's raining, I'm going to guess it's the co-drivers day for a shower enroute so they don't lose time. :)
