Man, I haven't been able to get away on my bike for a bunch of years. Use to be there was a trip somewhere every summer. Blue Ridge, Nashville, where ever. Have to make it a priority next year. Times running out...
Enjoy that time sir, best fun you can have with your clothes on.

I met up with a buddy of mine from Michigan in EffinghamIL. We decided to ride to Vegas…through Kansas, Colorado (even in the middle of summer, it will be cold in the Rockies…and I didn’t have a jacket. Stupid me. Didn’t have a rain suit. Stupid me) and Utah.

Wore some Kevlar jeans, and a hoodie, but carried an extra pair of regular denim and a couple tees, some tools, tire plugs and an air compressor. I was gone for 3 weeks. I realized that I enjoy roaming around the country on a bike more than anything else I’ve ever done.

 

Still have the Vision in your avatar? I had two of them, hands down the best touring bike on the market. Should've never sold either of them, but was led to believe Victory was set to introduce major improvements in the coming model year and they killed the company.

 

No, like an idiot I sold it. I flip bikes a lot and i was waiting for a hip replacement and couldn't ride it, it's a big bike. Fellow made an offer i couldn't refuse, and off it went. I have an 07 VTX1300 I bought at the same time as the Vision, bother were smashed. It was suppose to go to another friend but his boss Vetoed that so it stayed with me, it's closer to the ground and lughter so I kept it to ride while waiting and recovering from the hip.
I'm actually looking for a Cross Country Tour now. Haven't found one yet that's been down or blown up. One will surface eventually.

 

Last couple of years I haven’t put 300 miles on my scooter. It’s a shame to own something that gives you a lot of relaxation, but never seem to get to enjoy it….

 

About the same , wife and will ride somewhere to eat now and then. Maybe this fall when temperatures cool a bit we'll get a trip in.

 

I-64 east bound shut down at the Milton exit to allow Mr. Williams procession to enter the interstate and go to the Capital….
