American beer in general seemed watery to me. Canadian beers tend to be heavier, a lite beer here is still pretty full tasting compared to American brews. And then there’s the alcohol content. Most is 5%, some 7% and back in the day you could get Brador at 12%.

The other day at the brewery I was enjoying beers that were 11% and 18% ABV. Go for quantity and end up face planting. My favorite beer there is only 8.2%, usually have 3 or 4 and still good, or mostly good anyways;).

All depends on the brewing. A quality brew can have a high abv and you'll feel fine, just reduce quantity to your own tolerance, cause the alcohol can sneak up on ya like a good ####tail.

Quite a few so called brewers out there that just throw a bunch of hops and a high abv together, call it a "craft beer" and sell it to folks that don't know any better. That stuff will make you rue the day you were born.

Everyone should drink what they like. It's all about the enjoyment, and life's too short to not drink what you like.
