No they finally went back, but under a less desirable contract. One of the crane operators stopped at my place to say hello the other day.
He told me it was nothing like it was, and took a job elsewhere working and going to school for electrical work.
The unfortunate broker I had to deal with lost some loads out of there from what I’m hearing. Apparently the (scabs) really cut the rates to get the loads…..Swine hauler, Brettj3876, jamespmack and 9 others Thank this. -
Ended up doing some horse trading . Now I have the correct radiator, so the original radiator cap I paid handsomely for will have a new home, at some point in the future. Cap is solid cast iron, and hard to find.
I don’t mind the Case chicken roost steering, just not much on a narrow front in this area.
They sprayed starting fluid in the air cleaner, and the engine fired up! Good start for a project from 1941….

When all that is done though, and i've got a free minute, yeah, I'm gonna have me a hell of a time.
On to my weekend. I finally got back to work Wednesday after yet another death in the family. All great people who led great lives. No mourning, only celebration.
Loaded up some dock floats for Harrison, ID. Shagged a'ss and lost em Friday mornin, then rolled down to Lewiston for some lumbet. Rolled outta Lewiston EB on 12 and shut it down at the first good swimmin/fishin hole after losing cell service. Cracked a cold beer and grabbed the rod.
Spent a bit fishin and finally hooked somethin. (The Sage rod and Orvis reel)
So this is a high $$ fly setup. With the name and date, i figure it's special to somebody. My buddy has posted it on social media trying to find the owner.
Anyway, a few more beers drank and I'm sittin in my little chair readin a book right at dusk. I'll be da'mned if this bear doesn't come right up the road here eating these cattail chutes. He's gorging himself when i see headlights three or 4 curves east. I walked over and ran him off. Videoed it too, but i won't share that cause i sound like a drunk redneck runnin off a bear.
Woke up with a headache of course. I'm not a big eater, but i needed hot coffee and a good breakfast. Whipped up one hell of an omelet and coffee, then fished a bit more.Attached Files:

As the day wore on, my quiet little pull off got busy with folks wanting to enjoy the river. All good, I'll find somethin down the road. A few stops and more fishin
No good places to stop and fish as i got into Montana, so i rolled on into Lolo. Picked up a room at the Days Inn, and eased down to Lolo Steakhouse and Distillery. No pics, but the Huckleberry Vodka was awesome. I had steak and lobster tail. I'm not a huge fan of lobster, but that lobster in Montana was twice as good as the one i had in Maine watchin the waves roll in.
So Saturday night when i checked into the hotel, i saw a brochure for a fishin guide. I was free till Sunday evening, ao i gave them a call. Ended up bookin a trip for Sunday on the Bitterroot.
My guide Dan was awesome. The fish weren't really biting, though i did get into two really good Cutthroat. Good time had
Sorry no fish pics. The good fish i caught was around 1:50, and Dan said that the later caught fush stressed easy with the warmer water, so it was a quick release.
For the bad. I was rollin along 12 when i noticed the car right behind me had been replaced by 6 motorcycles. A short straight stretch ahead on double yellow and they decided to pass. I backed off but the last guy was right at the curve when he crossed back into my lane, and couldn't make the curve.
Luckily he was in one of the few areas along 12 where the river isn't right there. His buddies rolled on but one finally heard the air horn and came back.
Washington tags on their bikes. Big guy was actin bad hurt, and i'm sure he felt he was, but he looked like he would recover.
I ran back to my truck parked in the middle of the road after his group was all there. Hit up CH 9 on the CB cause i hadn't had cell service for 80-90 miles. Never got a response, but a trooper runnin lights on passed me 8 miles later.Flint1, tramm01, Elroythekid and 17 others Thank this.
