Nor is handling. That invoice should have lots of itemized charges on it.

You can put whatever you want on an invoice. Doesnt mean they have to pay any of it other than what was agreed upon in the contract.

Hmm, I mentioned I could do that to the broker and they said "No No, you have to have Progressive do it"...

But I'm going to do it this way and see if they notice.. because yeah... Progressive is still being slow. They're already on my #### list for something else and I hate dealing with them so this may be another sign to get with a different insurer once renewal time comes up.

Yeah if they require it from progressive then just make the certificate like normal and then click the email box and put in the brokers email .. It comes directly from progressive email address they will never know... @God prefers Diesels taught me that one

Not sure what's gonna happen here. Advised the broker i would send her an invoice along with a phone# and adress of where to pick up pipe.

Owner called later offering to pay me to try to get his pipe back, and that he had two yards here in Arkansas. Then he threatened me with federal charges and a civil suit.

The sherrifs office i was in contact with also called, asking if I would please try to find resolution.

I called the owner back, and told him that i would try to see what i could do getting it back to his Arkansas yards. Told him i would see what it would run if he would give me an address. He said he'd call back.

And he did a few minutes later. Saying he demanded it returned to the pipe yard that wouldn't take it back, and threatening again a civil suit, federal charges, and leins on my equipment.

    GFY dude.

Carrier Packets I've noticed are another consistent inconsistency in this game. Some brokers haven't cared if the COI came directly from me, or if it was sent by the insurance company.

Actually just got off of the phone with the broker and they had me send them a copy directly so they can issue the RateCon while we wait for the "official" one to come in.

But, in the future I'm going to do it the way you and @God prefers Diesels suggest, because this would have been really aggravating had it been a load that picked up the same or next day.

You’re right. They only have to pay it if they want the load. They took a bundle off and refused the balance, effectively consigning it to storage. That was the end of the freight contract right there. I know in the same situation I’d have a load of pipe in my yard until somebody pays the bill. I don’t give a #### who pays it, shipper, consignee or the bottom feeding pos. I just know that load doesn’t go back on a truck until I’m paid. Don’t know what it is where OP is, here it’s the Warehouseman’s and Repairman’s Lien Act covers that sort of thing. A vehicle in a tow compound, a storage locker full of goods or a load of pipe. They're all the same thing, stored goods. An unpaid invoice, a registered letter and 30 days I can legally sell the goods in settlement of my bill. No matter how outrageous it is. They could take that to court, but I’ll see to it that it would be a lot cheaper to just come get their #### out of my yard. After the bill is paid in full of course.

At this point, I'd advise the next avalible date is a week from now. Trucks busy. Don't necessarily take my advise. Im no lawyer. I just capable of being the bigger A. Hole in these situation.

Be business like and demand a reschedule delivery and COD. You have those rights. Its not stolen.

I do find it fun to know exactly what it is I'm picking up because I've dealt with the Shipper before in a different capacity.

Delivering to a competitor of my former employer. HEH HEH HEH

8F8D3680-A4B6-4F6B-8F55-ED41A39C4FCC.jpeg I hauled this last summer from Indiana to the oil patch in West Texas. It was the biggest cat engine I had ever seen, and all across the country people were asking me what it was going in and could they take a picture. It was a little over 10’ tall, about 7’ wide and weighed a little under 24k.
