What a day.
Got the four wheeler out and rode down to the normally tiny creek. Not so tiny, gonna have to rename it E/W Mississippi River. No stock down there and fences can be redone after the flood.
Start to roll out and I'm stuck on them famous Texas mud. But I did remember to put on my lace up boots and roll up my pants. Otherwise I would be barefoot before I could get back to the shed. After falling twice I got back to the shed looking like I had been mud wrestling fully dressed.
Back to the shed and I realize the carburetor has not magically rebuilt itself. Crap!
So now I have to get my crate of chains. Ooh, hope that shiney black spider doesn't bite me on them way out of the crate! Lug them to the back end of my going to church Silverado LTZ pick up. She never goes off road but here we are about to go play in the mud, yeah, not.
Two hours latter and that little 4 wheeler is back in the shed, covered in mud. The Sunday truck is in the garage covered with mud. And my clothes are soaking to get rid of the mud. The detailer will be here tomorrow too clean them both up and I will get that carborator done and back in the farm truck.
All that just to see if the creek was dangerously high or not. It is, so feel free to take some of this rain!tramm01, cke, pete781693 and 11 others Thank this. -
That's the most important part of the photo.. Ole Big Road is alright. I like his moxie..
I 2nd the curiosity on the pipe escapade. I may have tried to hand bomb it off the side, or roll it off with the winch bar as leverage depending on how heavy they was right where they unloaded the one bundle & rolled out..Crusader66, tramm01, cke and 10 others Thank this. -
No resolution yet with the pipe issue. Broker filed a complaint with Truckstop, that i stole the pipe. I have 7 days to respond as of today.
I called every branch of govt that deals in interstate transport and i can't get clear answers. I have been totally transparent though with all. Even got pulled over for a Level 1 right after unloading the pipe. I asked the officer about the situation, and he responded like all others "Why didn't they just finish unloading"
I also understand that most of my issues arise from my unwillingness to take BS from brokers or shippers.
All good though. I don't regret my action, and wish more would do the same. Seems they all expect to be able to jerk around the driver. Broker was livid when i told her I'd left, and when she questioned "Who told you you could leave?", and my reply "Mam, I don't ask permission for nothing", she lost it.
We'll see how it turns out.Crusader66, tramm01, cke and 12 others Thank this. -
