Brandt industries has been building highway tractor based railcar movers since the 1980s. They are great for flatland short-line moving of up to 8 cars and rapid movement from one end to the other of the short-line by road. The plant was 5 blocks from the yard I worked out of in the late '90s and until 2010. I personally hauled units to MN and KS in '99 or 2000 they were using W900 then with mostly Detroit power, now they are mostly Freightliners.

I will check this out. I should get a pic at Bunge North America. They have a locomotive, but also use a Cat loader to pull cars through the plant. I see it all the time. But to see a wheeled loader with a rail car hitch on the rear is different.

Adm used to use a loader til one day the loaded cars got away on it... lol old Santos got his point across that it wasn't the best setup to do it with. Lol 3 cars totally manhandled it.

I had a nice coat/hat/shirt from one their guys that was trying to deliver a Pete to Atlanta. It was their first 2007 DPF model and they moved the DPF into a cabinet to make room for the running gear they added along with a huge ZF tranny. He made it to to MO and scorched the paint off the cabinet door and literally melted sensors/wiring. I let him borrow my truck to run into town to grab some food while I was repairing it AND removing cabinet door, as he was heading back to Regina with it to be redesigned. I get in my truck to leave and he left a whole bunch of Brandt swag in the seat with a thank you note.

Figured I'd put this up, just in case I'm not the only one in here that's dealing with older abused ears. I've had a mystery air leak, first losing 20-30 lbs over the weekend, then recently down to 65 lbs overnight. Sprayed soap on everything not in a bundled loom and then sprayed those too and couldn't find it.

With low expectations, I picked up: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TRJA8M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

It's not a $5k piece of equipment by any stretch, but with the included headphones, I found my leak pretty quickly - filter regulator on the transmission was leaking out of the vent. Probably one of the last places I'd expect since I installed the tranny new last year.

Is it the best motorcycle? I would have to take it on a 2000 miles road trip to answer that. Seems like every time anyone tries to reinvent a motorcycle, it looks like a cafe racer. I like cafe racers. I like 2000 mile road trips more. I’ve never seen a cafe racer out on the open road.

I wish them success with their company.
