I bought a small one just like that with the finger slots and set a code and it opens. Only thing I don’t like about it, is that it’s mobile so it could be taken unless I figure out a good spot to secure it

That Microvault MV500 has a four foot steel cable tether that pops out, that is why I bought it.

I’ll have to check mine and see if it has one. It’s still in the box.

I wish we Manitobans could buy beer at a Walmart or grocery store. But we get to go to the "MLCC" to buy our booze, and they aren't open the most convenient hours all the time. But at least for beer we still have beer vendors.

I really wish the government would back off on some of the restricted legislation. It isn't legal handguns that are being used in crimes up here, or legal guns in general.

I hate the idea that the RCMP can enter my home, unannounced, to inspect that my handgun is properly secured and stored, and that my ammunition is locked in a separate container somewhere else in the house. What?

Or that I would have to call in a trip plan, just to move it to the gun range to shoot it, and if I have to deviate for any reason, I have to call them again.

If we didn't have "free" healthcare and some other perks of being Canadian, I'd contemplate moving to North Dakota. Still close to family and friends, but on the better side of the border for gun ownership and protecting my family.

I'm still proud to be Canadian. Although I might be changing my tune next election.

When the last president was talking about going into people’s homes and checking, our governor said nope. He understood what I was saying earlier, the person in the house has advantage, has walls of protection and knows where you are. You would get a lot of law enforcement killed under the auspices of going in a house to take someone’s guns. The person making the rule has no skin in the game and has no risk. The cops and agents doing it are like EFF THAT.

Oh, I'm definitely proud to be Canadian, but I can admit when the US does certain things better than us.

I'm politically indifferent for the most part. I can't stand any of the party offerings we have available to us. Either it's too far to the right on social issues with fiscal responsibility (even then the last Conservative leader we had knew how to spendspendspend), or it's too much ######## with the more left-leaning on social issues and absolutely no fiscal responsibility.

Since I started being able to vote, we've had to endure so much of the NDP's lack of responsibility here that politics just drive me nuts these days. I just want to see the same and equal freedoms for every citizen without the government thinking it needs to spend my taxpayer dollars (which amounts to almost 30% of my income now) on things I don't believe people really deserve.

Healthcare, emergency services and education (including post-secondary) should be priority. Everything else is secondary, and if the budget can't handle it, then those programs get put on hold. I hate governments that spend what they don't have.

    I
I couldn't agree more. Healthcare and education should be #1 priority. The education system in this country needs some serious reform though. Its so dated and unfortunately many teachers shouldn't be teachers.

When you really think about it, its kinda sad that we don't actually look at elections as a chance to vote someone in. We always seem to refer to it as a chance to get rid of the party who screwed us the previous 4 years (knowing full well the new party is gonna screw us just as bad, just in a different position).

I also didn't mean to imply you weren't proud to be Canadian. Sorry if it came off that way.

Was at my sister’ house. She has a home alarm. I set the alarm off. 5 minutes later, ADT calls. We don’t answer. 50 minutes later, a squad car shows. Now, I’m not knocking the cops, calls are prioritized and a home alarm doesn’t get the priority as a shootout in a convenience store.

Point was,”If you think your home alarm is going to run off home invaders, you’re deceiving yourself!”

I really like when someone who lives in a mansion with trained security personnel get on TV and tries to tell me what I need in my home.
“Oh, you only need a double barrel shotgun.”
Reaaaaallly? Why don’t you say that to your armed security? Hire the best guys on the planet, but tell them that they can only use a double barrel. Bet they quit.

Imagine Rambo in a First Blood part 1, going through the whole flick, using only a double barrel. There would have never been a First Blood 2.
