Thanks. Headed to bed. Trucking dont stop for a birthday. I however halfway thru teaching a new kid to load trucks, I had the thought. "SELF, YOU DONT EVEN FRICKING WORK HERE".

 

We have done so much for so long with so little, Now we can practically do anything with nothing.

Dad turned 78 today, the grey is slowing showing in his hair now….

 

Lucky him mine grey/white is more dominant than his.

In an article by a retired general talking about a fellow military man, MacArthur, components of what would become this quote had been published in 1942. Later these components became a single quote, and would become a “motto” for an Air Force wing, then an iteration was used by the navy, coast guard, marines. All had a slight variation of the same wording.

There have been others attributed to this, or variations on it, but no proof of citation can be found.
