We came out of California with 24 hives this spring. Splitting them into Nuc boxes and requeening over and over again all summer has left us no honey crop at all but we will go back into California on the almonds in about a month with 82 hives.

I wish I knew a little more about the swarming but I don't. A beekeeper has to adjust his checking up on them to prevent it depending on temperature and what's in bloom. Lots of factors in play.

I hauled boxes for a very short time back in ‘15. That’s the main thing I didn’t like.... you don’t get to drag hoses or do any work at all. Just drive.

You just did for the wrong company. At least I still have to unload the trailer.

    Lol, you got me there.

I get that the whole sand box deal fits some folks well. Some people don’t want to get any exercise beyond walking into the truck stop for the buffet. To each their own but, like @HillbillyDeluxeTruck said, I still like to do some work when I get a chance. Not that dragging hoses and opening valves is real tough, but at least I get out of the drivers seat every load.

My hat is certainly off to you folks in food service. I imagine could handle the work, just not all the counting and other bs y’all put up with.

Appreciate that, but I don’t do food service, nor could I. I do LTL and food service is well beyond even that, IMHO.

Those guys definitely earn their money.

I’m happy just to roll the crap to the back and say “here you go, help yourself”. :)

Slammin gates and whoopin on hopper knock rails is more my style. Harvest is in full swing but my boys in Mississippi say it worth coming to this year. Corn is almost out, DOT is thick as bugs on a bumper I hate that too. Comin out of the field is my favorite thing in the world. Comin of the clutch feelin the left front come up then easin into the gas and that black smoke rollin nothing like it.

Hey sometimes sweeping/blowing out that wagon can be a pretty good workout too.
