They used individual brushes on everything, cleaned the engine, she even used a brush on the wheels with soap not just spraying them. Acid on the tanks and steps. Degreaser all over the lowboy then washed with a hot pressure washer.

How ya doing young man? Well…. just trying to stay alive, How are you old man?
That was a typical start to a conversation between myself and my uncle Herman.
When others pushed me away as a kid he always welcomed me to stay and learn. He has always been my buddy.
Setting here in a Truckstop last night around 11:45 when my phone rang, caller idea told me it was bad news. His daughter called to let me know that he had just passed away a few minutes earlier.
He was one of the guys you could work around and after a while learn each other’s needs as far as what tool the other needed. When pulling a pump in a deep well on steel, or pulling a big pump in the coal mines on 2” or 3” steel with the drilling rig, we could just look at each other and know exactly what the other needed.
Sure gonna miss him, he was like a 2nd dad to me….. -
