    They build the surface up with weld, then turn it back down. Then rebalance.

    No, after the welding process, it would be rebalanced and polished as necessary.

    If you do an internet search on refurbished crankshaft or camshaft, you will find a number of videos that show how it’s done. When done by a quality shop, they can be as good, or better than a factory piece.

    What if someone made the cargo box into a camper, but didn’t change the outside at all?

    And added AC and power steering and a newer diesel and transmission?

    Everybody forgets the lowly mechanical L10 and M11 from the 90's and 2000's.
    Good torque, about 250hp minimum 400 max
