Going down to jersey city tomorrow morning and picking up a load in Pittston going to Elmira Tuesday morning. Dad's got the easy day he's just loading for jersey city

I had 4 tracks in both family cars when I was in high school and a buddy with a high-end 4 track reel to reel recorder. We borrowed LPs from friends and recorded over tapes we bought at garage sales for a buck or less. We made up to 7 copies for ourselves and friends.
The 4 track was higher fidelity and to this day some radio stations still use 4-track "carts" for local ads.

 

I'm not this old. Just like cars and history. But the under the dash record player was offered as option and aftermarket in the 50's. I really like seeing the 50's window air conditioner, or the baby hammock also. No seat belts, but baby swinging in space in the back seat. That you know was full of cigarette smoke.

 

I used to remember seeing kids riding in the top loft of truck campers going down the highway back in the 90s.

 

Camper, we didn't even get a pickup cap. Whole ball team in the back and all the dads were drinking beer. We were hauled like fire wood.
