Lol thats a good one.. Dont take it personal. Mexican people might be the greatest people to walk this earth.. Their culture is increeible and the #### talking is all in fun... Learn some curse words in their language and #### talk them right back and you will be in the family forever... They have the most welcoming culture out of any culture ive ever been around... And when u date a Mexican girl you not only date her but her entire family !

 

The last one I dated with a father had a wimpy dad. He had 4 daughters, 1 son. All the daughters were cheaters and left their husbands. We had one argument, a big ol argument because she wanted me to carry her purse for her.

“Can you carry my purse?”

No. Get what you need out of the purse and leave it in the car.

“But I don’t know what I may need.”

Then carry your purse. Your purse, your gear, you carry.

“What’s wrong…fragile ego won’t allow you to carry a purse?”

In my OTR time I loved trucking thru the deep south. 1) The infrastructure was built to handle it. 2) I'm adaptable. Black motherly types of women - love em. Brown people - love em.

"What's that accent?".... New England..... F'd if I know, I don't sound like I'm from Boston.... Hell, guys from Massachusetts have nailed me with "You're not from Maine." (And I'm not.)

 

She was the first girl I ever dated that could actually cook! Wait…she was the only girl that I ever dated that could throw down in the kitchen.
To this day, I am still crazy for refried beans, huevos mexicanos and salsa verde.

 

Nah lol, just gotta get it where you want it and feed it on safely as possible. These are low rpm engines, it probably wasn’t turning more than 100 rpm. But…. accidents have happened.

Some of the larger engines have clutches on the pulleys. I’ve seen some clutches with wooden friction plates, that was factory original.

The problem with flat belts is having them walk under the drive pulley… I know that sounds crazy but. You ever grab a possum by the tail and while holding him he will try to crawl up his belly and bite you?? A loose Flat belt under a load will do the same thing, then the drive pulley becomes a winch drum, and what ever the belt is hooked to on the other end will come flying towards the drive pulley while tearing stuff up lol.

My bigger engine has to be started by body weight or a belt hooked to a tractor. This engine is now gone, but those flywheels are in my yard painted up, if you don’t get off the spokes and it backfires, well, it will treat you like an ornery mule lol…

 

Back in the 60's Maccam transport (later Trimac) fired a friend of my dads for ditching a tanker of gas when he could not turn on ice because the 5th had frozen in the 50 miles since loading. He was later reinstated after appealing to the owner.
For this reason I was taught to use 90w oil on the 5th wheel if temps were below 20f (-10c)and to dribble some diesel onto the jaws to thin the grease in the jaws whenever I was unhooked. The 90w thinned the grease enough to turn while still lubing the 5th wheel. This served me well when running the northern country at -40c and -50c for 4 winters almost exclusively.

My grandmother whom passed Nov. '21( mama's mom) run my pop off from dating her twice. Said it was cause he was no good, & too short!! Lol (in her prime mama was 5'11" & pop is 5'8", he wore lifts at the wedding, & they'll celebrate there 48th in june) Pop's is a man that once he sets mind to something, it will be..

It was actually my grandfather "big Steve" who approved it. Said "Renate, that boys a worker. He looks me in the eye & is honest. If Steffy likes him, let em be."

Big Steve stood 6'4" & 270lbs. Talk about anxiety Pop's must a had facing him at 5'8", 120lbs back in his teen yrs.. lol
