Is there stuff you won't need to worry about checking on that engine?

Yeah it's a 2250 isx. Fully "demandated" . I'm not 100% convinced its a head problem because it shows no signs of excess pressure in the coolant tank at all. I walked down to O'Reilly's a couple days ago and got a block tester and it didn't show any signs of combustion gases in the coolant on that test..

I should start by saying there is no symptoms other than it is losing about half a gallon of coolant per day. With no drips to be seen whatsoever. I have crawled under every inch of the truck and not found 1 drip.. Or any lines leaking and evaporating off.. I pulled the egr cooler clamps off to see if it could be leaking and it dry as a bone on both sides of the egr cooler. Egr crossover tube is bone dry and no sign of moisture In intake manifold either.. No coolant in the oil, or vice versa. Don't have fuel tank heaters either so not leaking there... tranny cooler is bypassed as well.

I just got home and was looking at it again.. I cleaned off the top of the egr cooler a couple days ago with brake cleaner and it has since gotten dirty and this grease and dirt mixture seems kinda wet. Almost like when u have a seal seeping oil. So I wonder if it could be the egr cooler is leaking internally and evaporating off where it's not showing signs of any leaks.. That is about the only symptom I can find and the amount of coolant I'm losing is on par with how much u would lose if egr cooler went out.. Even know it doesn't necessarily work it still has coolant flowing thru it.. I think this is where I'm going to start. Put a new egr cooler on and go from there..

This picture is top of egr cooler , notice the black dirt mixture. This was clean down to the red metal only 2 days ago.. It is not completely wet, but is not completely dry either... any ideas or thoughts or diagnostic ideas are appreciated..Thanks gents

I think @Nostalgic has been down this road. Or definitely had some ISX experience. It sounds like your culprit and you doing a good join tracing it down. I think I would obtain the needed items to test engine, with cooler removed.

Have you checked the air tanks? What about the heater core(s)?

What tester were you using for combustion gases? Apparently there are ones for gas engines and ones for diesel engines.
