The a1 is my favorite find, I have enough engine parts just need to rebuild it, missing the proper gauges, the rest is paint power coat and chrome/zinc. It going to be a fun ride.

Same. I feel your pain. I’ve averaged under $15k a year in maintenance for 6 years and I’m already at $25k lol. I usually try to do 4 weeks at a time and now it’s like every week I have to go back for something to fix.

Do the figure 8s in the parking lot. Fastest, safest and best way to get the clutch friction zone to CLICK.

    1. no stalls at starting off
    2. no duck walking in turns
    3. no foot dragging. Period.
    4. no issues with u-turns or any slow speed maneuvering

If you are going to lay down the bike, odds are it will be at slow speed.

Picked up an old 450 Nighthawk. It definitely does not look its age. Just a few minor bugs to iron out and it'll be good.

I definitely believe that, the first couple low speed turns were a bit sketchy. I've just been turning around at the end of my driveway and coming back so far. The turns are getting smoother and my feet are staying on the pegs. I even manage an upshift and a downshift once in a while.
