look for one that is close to factory stock.
A lot of good bikes in 500 and under can be found for a reasonable price. Probably find that bikes in this size will be in pretty decent condition.

 

Full rebuild kits for that carburetor set are really cheap, like $45.00 usd.
Consider replacing the intake boots as well.

 

That's the plan for this fall. I just want to get the safety inspection out of the way so I can actually ride it a bit this summer. The shop that I went to has an ultrasonic tank for cleaning carbs so when fall comes I'll strip it down and completely rebuild it. Since I cleaned out the jets it runs excellent.

 

Sounds like overall it's quute a bit harder to get/ride/license a motorcycle up there.

Back in 06 I bought a new Electra Glide. Never did ger my motorcycle endorsement, and had no issues getting insurance or tags. Finally sold it in 2010 wity 1200 miles on it. I was a new rider and never was quite comfortable on it, and it really just wasn't my thing.

Fast forward to this year and I bought this BMW. Took the written test which was 25 questions. Easy pass with no studying. Riding portion was simply making a single figure 8. No inspections.

I've put more miles on this bike in 4 weeks on the road than I did that Harley in 4 years, and I was home every day

 

Its only because I got the bike from another province. If this bike was already registered here I wouldn't need the inspection.

 

Everything that I enjoy about OTR, I enjoy even more on a motorcycle. It’s been raining all day, but it’s still been a great ride.

Had a cute green eyed waitress at Waffle House. Asked her if she liked love stories and she loves them told her the joke about the veterinarian falling in love with a patient and she laughed out loud. Mouth loaded with cavities. Baby. They really have to up their vitamins when pregnant if they want to keep their teeth.

 

She's mint. Getting plates this afternoon.
