you arent kidding at all.. it is crazy how times have changed so much in just a couple years... well i guess the light at the end of the tunnel is that in a cyclical market it has to start going back up at some point.. the question is just how long do we have to wait it out

I’ve appreciated your posts in the past so this really sucks to hear. I was in the same boat when I was dry van. Luckily the flatbed market has kept me in business. I would look into a flat… or a cushy company job.

Drop some cards off at rental shops. I worked at a few of them and we always had 1 or 2 owner ops on speed dial to handle excess work.

When I first started in 2010 I went to my local FedEx Kinkos (now FedEx Office) and had them make me 5,000 business cards. I paid $62 on a promo and drove home. I then decided that I was going to litter the earth with my business cards until people started calling. I left them everywhere I could possibly drop a card. It took about 4 months before the business card phone calls and emails started to come in and it was well worth it to me. I had a new company and new authority and enough money in the bank to survive for about 70 days before the checks started coming in. Those business cards are probably the smartest business decision I have made.

That being said, if you can get your hands on that 48' flatbed that @LameMule offered to you I think you can really turn things around with it. At least give you an opportunity to generate some revenue and breathe just a little bit and get your wits about ya while you figure out what's best for you at this time.

It's always nice to see one trucker offer help to another fellow trucker in today's times. I surely appreciate the kindness and your willingness to help a road warrior out when he is struggling so thank you for the generosity you have shown towards @D.Tibbitt. Your good deed to help another man does not go unnoticed.

You’ll do good tibbitt! Always wise to broaden your skills too when you have time. Welding is always a handy one, so is a “mixology certificate” (which you can get in weeks to a month) I’ve had one since 2014, know a few bartenders who make good cash doing it.

I always had bad anxiety with my truck ownership, no matter how much I fixed I could never feel like it was gonna take care of me. Sucks dude

She is a cruel, vindictive and heartless mistress for sure. Comparing my truck to Amber Heard, I find myself wondering how bad it really would be to have just wash the turds off the bedsheets once in a while lol.
