No. Coworker had a spare kit and he gave it to me. He'll just take the old parts back and get himself a new kit. Nearest Matco dealer is about an hour away.

I was thumbing through the Snap On flyer the other day and I can't believe how out to lunch they are on prices. 1/2" drive shallow impact swivel socket set was over $600 ON SALE!!! I think I paid under $300 for my Mac ones about 10 years ago. So glad my tool buying days are pretty much over.

Tools buying days don't ever end. I still end up spending $2-4k a year, and that's without any "free" Snap-on coats.

JoeyJunk, CAXPT, cke and 7 others Thank this.

I don't think I've spent that much on tools in the last 3 or 4 years. I get my broken stuff warrantied but that's about it these days.

Buying tools was fun when I didn't have any. These days I avoid the trucks and the tool sections of the stores. Got enough, don't want any more.

Besides replacing my 1/2" impact the only tools I've bought recently were carpentry related for home projects.

CAXPT, cke, singlescrewshaker and 2 others Thank this.

My neighbor, self-admitted not mechanically inclined, saw my cordless impacts.
    Oh, nice! he says.
He's got brand new Milwaukees on his bench now, with spankin' new impact socket sets.
Careful with those, Dan. Don't dig a hole so deep I can't get you out.

Don't ever go independent with a service truck.
Step #1: Get service truck. Load with all your good tools.
Step #2: "My good tools are getting trashed and lost!"
Step #3: Unload service truck tools back into workshop
Step #4: Purchase Cheap-O entire, complete second set of tools
Step #5: Bigger equipment job, get 3/4" drive stuff
Step #5: BIGGER job, get 1" drive set and gigantor combo's
    Step #6:.........

CAXPT, dwells40, cke and 8 others Thank this.
