Tell us about them, please. The guy that leases my rice ground tried growing soy beans one year and he swears he'll never grow them again. We have clay soil and it doesn't drain well. Good for rice, not much good for anything else.

Yes, well theres beans that get eaten fresh, theres ones that are typically dried, plus theres bean plants that grow as a bush or as a vine, vine type is usually called pole beans because you plant tgem near something they can grow up.
In general a bean meant to be dried is a bush bean but not always. A pole bean is usually picked while the seeds are small, cooked like any wax bean or green beans, and the vine keeps producing for an extended period. Then theres the in-between kinds like limas that you let the seed grow big but pick it off the plant while still growing to eat fresh.
    What are you going plant?

I think it'll happen. I'd like to ride out to BC next year and ride down to Vancouver on the Coq, then back up the Canyon to 100 Mile House. From there either head up to northern BC or cut across to the Interior and then up to Valemount.

Oh, i don't know much about soybeans but I see it grown locally. Big market for them. But Jacobs cattle beans... Not sure if it would be a marketable crop at large scale. You make yankee dried bean stuff with them. Baked beans, bean soup, stuff like that.
If the eans didn't do well have you considered a round of maybe clover or alfalfa and turn it under? Those are good cover crop and good nitrogen fixers. No money for the season but in the long run it could serve you well, adding plant matter to the soil will help brwak up the clay.. .eventually lol

Nothing is better than a full teardown and rebuild. Can of Berryman's if you insist on dipping, but a parts washer or can or 2 of brake cleaner would be just as effective. I've forgotten which carbs, but some jets are pressed in - guitar wire and brasso on a q-tip. Balancing on carbs with gauges after install is the most overlooked and where buying equipment if you don't have it is worthwhile.

I've cleaned mine once with torch tip cleaners and brake cleaner. It didn't do a very good job getting the varnish out of the tiny passages IMO. I've got a rebuild kit coming minus the floats since mine are still good. Jets are the wrong size (1982 was an oddball year for the 450). I'm going to save my originals and drill out the new ones so they're a size or 2 larger than the originals. Apparently the jetting on stock Hondas in those days made them run lean for emissions. A lot of folks (online and in person) have advised me to go larger on the jets so I don't think its all BS. Worst case I end up reinstalling the original jets.
