    I had an old Marvel-Schebler carb dipped recently. Didn't do much of anything for the rust, had to buff out all the rust with a small grinder and wire cup brush.

    Ok, I wondered if that was a more realistic outcome. Electrolysis works really well on steel, but it's pretty hard on non-ferrous material like brass, copper and aluminum.

    I should see my tank next week. Depending on my motivation I may strip my carbs and test it out next weekend. I'm curious how well it'll work.

    Yes I have and I don't use rebar anyway. :)
    If I hadn't added that calcium chloride to counter what we expected to be cold weather, that concrete may have outlasted me since it was poured I believe in 1989/1990. All the concrete around that driveway meaning our sidewalks, the house side of the driveway that broken concrete is sitting on, and the patio past the driveway and the back porch and other than the city repaired section of the approach and lower part of the drive, was done by me as well, and it's as solid as the day it was cured when it was done in August of 2001. That weather fluke cost me my concrete's longevity. :(
    But it's all good. I can patch it until I can afford to replace it...when prices come down... which means I hope these patches hold. :) I figure I might put topping on the rest that has cracking, and maybe that will hold it until I'm gone. :)

    I'm in good company then. :)
    I turn 67 next month, so considering the conditioning I've seen in others my age or younger, I'm not going to complain, although I DO need to start using a treadmill again to stay ahead of the curve. :)

    Job posting at a local mill;

    VINTAGE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC
    Restoration of antique steam engines, sawmill, and other vintage equipment
    Compensation:$33.95 - $39.95 DOE

    That would be a sweet job

    That would be a blast. I'm guessing it's not anywhere near Kansas though.

    It's a bit of a commute to NorthCentral Idaho from there. 95 is a challenge in the winter.
