That might be just a little far. Besides, I don't see my wife being too interested in moving again, either.singlescrewshaker, CAXPT, Feedman and 3 others Thank this.

Had a conversation with a young waitress who expressed a great desire to help the homeless. How would you help them?
“By feeding them. By making their lives a little more comfortable.”
You cannot help them that way if their situation is the result of bad choices. That’s the rules of the universe. No matter what power you have, or wealth. In fact, the only way you can really help people is through education. Any other aid is actually harmful to education.
She opened her mouth to respond. She stood in silence for some time, slumped in defeat and said, “You’re right. But I feel so bad for them.”
They’re living life according to their own choice. You cannot feel badly for someone who is doing exactly what they want to do.
No more words. You see this often. She knows that I am correct, but she will still try to help the homeless by feeding them and giving them money. The only thing that will come from this is that more and more homeless will congregate outside the restaurant, eventually to the point that the restaurant patrons get annoyed and harassed.singlescrewshaker, exhausted379, Flint1 and 9 others Thank this. -
Hwy 14A and 14 between Lovell and Sheridan. Steep grades, bad weather, traffic jams....

Burgess Jct., where 14A meets 14, is about 8500 as I recall.singlescrewshaker, exhausted379, Flint1 and 8 others Thank this.

I think you're right. Some crazy elevation change there. Start in Lovell at 3200' IIRC, and the top of the mountain was right at 9400'.
I needed every hole and split in top side of the tranny to get up there. Probably not the most wise routing decision I've made. Especially with 78k
Now i know. Beautiful areasinglescrewshaker, Flint1, tramm01 and 8 others Thank this. -
We had a project off of 14 south of Burgess Jct. We hauled equipment up from Greybull. 18 miles of windy 6% or more. Beautiful drive, and lots of signs describing various geological formations. Also, a rest area of sorts where you could park and walk to a waterfall by the name of Shell Falls if memory serves.Last edited: Sep 23, 2023

I'll try that one next summer. Lots of places for me to enjoy a weekend there.
East side of the mountain said 9% dropping down. Not sure it actually is. I held 21mph with the jakes on no problem.
The west side on 14a has to be 9%, though i didn't see a sign. I was pulling up it at 16mphsinglescrewshaker, Flint1, tramm01 and 8 others Thank this. -
There are quite a few Forest Service roads off the highway for your bike rides and/or fishing on the South Tongue. Lots of Brookies and some nice Browns!singlescrewshaker, Flint1, tramm01 and 7 others Thank this.

The 980 loader is back at the pit. Can you look at that problem we talked about?
Sure. You found someone to move it?
Nah, everyone's still booked. Had the wife follow me and roaded it back.
