You actually want a big caliber wheel gun if you ever try your hand at hunting on horseback out west.

I get out there and she has nailed this chicken snake to the post with that .45. I decided that very night she would never have a need to fling lead at mePoleCrusher, Zeviander, Al. Roper and 17 others Thank this. -
I’d feel better carrying a 1911 .45 instead of a revolver, but my Glock beats both IMHO as a carry gun. -
Or the worst one...”Over the Top” ...with Stallone wearing a leg warmer around his arm as he tried to keep his pretty son from crying all the time. What the heck is a leg warmer anyways? How do you explain that at the truckstop?
That’s what I always wanted...a pretty son that cries all the time.PoleCrusher, Zeviander, Al. Roper and 17 others Thank this. -
As opposed to this bunch...

Just make the first shot count. I hear you on the recoil. Can you get a 454 Casull or .500 S&W Magnum in an automatic? Autos aren't always practical or possible. A wheel gun is like a six cylinder gas engine. Near about impossible to beat in some ways.
