The kind you have to bring your own lumber and nails? Or the legit loads from a factory / reconstruction facility?
The stuff you bring your own stuff sounds good till you run the miles and costs to stop and get the required stuff. Seems to pay the same as anything else on the board.
Picking up at the factory is just as easy as any other load.
They are both perfectly safe if you follow there instructions on securement has been my experience.
I’ve hauled more than one load of each kind. I always say I’m never going to do the bring your own lumber loads again… then…..
Well you know?
lol
If you’ve never done one they are worth trying just so you know…

I only ever hauled the wheels. Never the wheels on the axles. Picked them up at Amsted Rail out near Keokuk, MO.

Some where in one of these threads is several pictures of the loads.
Not bad loads, just a takes a bit to get them on and secured.
If memory serves me, they had a load sheet that had all the info on it. Have not done one of them in quite awhile.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 5 others Thank this. -
Like to have $.50 for every axle I’ve hauled with the wheels installed.
Loading is a lot easier if you have dump valve on the tractor, lowers the nose of the trailer.
Forklift would set them on the rear and you roll them forward. If you need to steer it towards the drivers side just lay a binder down in front of the left wheel and bump it till it straightens up, wheel will start to climb the steel binder then slip as the other side rolls forward on the bed.
If my memory is correct… on a 48’ you can get 15 100 ton axles on, and 17 75 ton axles.
As a driver in the early 90’s we got $.28 mile empty and loaded hauling CSX….singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 5 others Thank this. -
If you want something that low profile just get irons with tritium in them. Just as good as that thing without a battery.
I've got a set of truglo tritium irons on 1 gun and a holosun red dot on another. The red dot is like cheating. Don't even have to really try with it. Put dot on target and the bullet goes there.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 5 others Thank this. -
no one pays for your equipment or the freight except for me if I tear it up proving it can’t be done!
having said that … I have no idea without seeing the the site.
things going against it are a fixed neck double drop - no shimming the neck to get extra ground clearance and likely 40k suspension not 46 or 52 so over airing the suspension might or might not pick it up depending on weight.
I would try it -
Right up to the point that I could still un#### it rather than just past the point where I couldn’t.
It looks doable but what do I know - I am Just a dumb prima Dona truck driver.singlescrewshaker, cke, CAXPT and 14 others Thank this. -
Load itself was only 40,000, airing up the bags on the tractor was very doable.
I walked it and looked at it, it as pretty much doable as it was, but I’m use to going in rough areas, I’m by no means a flat lander….singlescrewshaker, Isafarmboy, cke and 8 others Thank this. -

All right you all have a good day and be careful out there! The 4 wheelers are focused on holiday shopping and not you.
