See the concrete building / bunker in the gps pic? And to the right of it is a block wall in a rectangular shape…. That rectangular shape is an Olympic size swimming pool.

These are the remains of Baldwin Lodge, the stone steps on each side of the house are still there, as well as the sidewalks which are now all engulfed in vines and brush.

If memory is correct, it was destroyed around 1929 by a hurricane.. only pics that remain I found in the Louisiana Digital Library. It set by the Pearl River which divides Mississippi and Louisiana….

 

It’s a shame it has set here so many years. About 6 miles from my place. 3406 / 13 or 15 spd I can’t remember which it is….

 

Shame it’s been setting in the garage untouched for the last 8 years probably….
