Yes. Local guy did an inframe about ten years ago. This truck get used maybe 5 days out of the whole year. Today was it's second oil change since that inframe and I found little chunks of metal on the plug.

The ranch has chosen to turn a blind eye and if it blows up it's a good excuse for a newer truck that has a few less gremlins.

And what was the reason for the in frame… tired, scored liner, or…? If something comes apart and the aftercooler is not changed out, the metallic material in the cooler will flush out after the build and go to the pan if it doesn’t get caught in the bearings…

A different time a different place, Portugal in the '50s I think, but this is one answer to the problem. Get a ladder, stick a bloke on top and leave him there to clear all obstructions. ;-)
BTW, the truck is British with a locally built cab and the name on the grill is 'Poden'. In actual fact it is a Foden, a very old marque with an interesting history of family invention, disputes, and splits, but, as the word is very close to Foder, which is a very rude verb in Portuguese, all exports there had a slight name change.
One thing that puzzles me though, why is Elvis standing next to the cab door?

I wish I could tell you but nobody on the ranch knows why it went down and the guy that did the work had a truck fall off the jacks and kill him a few years back.

Oh lord, that’s a terrible thing to happen!! I’m probably not telling you anything you don’t already know but, changing the oil cooler is a must if metallic particles are in the oilpan. If not, the finer particles find their way to the bearings and over time a drop in oil pressure at idle is the norm. I unfortunately overlooked that fact in years past so I speak from personal experience….
