There was recently a study on domesticated pigs, it took them about 4 months to start showing all the traits of wild pigs, they actually grew bigger tusks and started more hair growth almost immediately. They are an amazing animal when it comes to survival traits, which also makes them a gigantic problem. I would love to go hunt them but MN has none right now and would have to go to Missouri or Arkansas to hunt them

On my little piece of ground they are dangerous. Never go anywhere without carrying a gun. But since they won't end up on my plate, my neighbors come through every once in a while and shoot off of my property and connected property. Many pigs will be harvested on those days but we still have more to go.

Ah, good point. My bad, if I won't eat it, I don't hunt it and in turn am not up on types of critters. And I said havalinas and pigs have crossed. That is not correct either. They have not crossed they are the same critters they have always been.
Need more coffee, that I do know.

Not to impressed with this. Population monitor is completely worthless. Might as well not even have it. No different than a regular drill. Controlled spill. Every time you change seed size it needs complete recalibration.jamespmack, CAXPT, Tug Toy and 11 others Thank this.

Those large ones have ran to much. Makes them tough. Saw a picture of one in Florida years ago. It was in the loader bucket of a full size tractor and it was full. They said it weighed 1,000 LBS ? Surely more domestic than Spanish but it was still a wild boar. I used to raise hogs I could believe it was a 1,000 LBS. Looked to be a lot of Landrace in it with the extra ribs and length. Largest hog I have ever seen. It would be scary to come across a sow from that with a litter.jamespmack, CAXPT, beastr123 and 6 others Thank this.

We don't have any hogs here but in the summer we get infiltrated with people from Utah so it kinda the same.
