Man, I feel you on the desire to go somewhere else. This summer, just like last, was ruined by smoke from wildfires. Driving home today I about had a fit looking at the ash on my pickup, the haze in the air, and the fact that my lungs feel like I've been smoking 10 packs a day.

But, I'm trapped location wise because I vowed to let my daughter finish high school where we're at (just started her Junior year). Also own a house that I couldn't sell right now if I wanted to because I've let too many little things go unattended.

Job is what it is. Pay is "meh". Got told I was put in for a raise, but how much I don't know. I'll find out when it kicks in. Wanting to pull the rip cord, but I need to get my CDL "un stale", or at least as un stale as I can get it regarding local work. OTR won't happen again, but most of the better "home every day" jobs want more "current" experience. I've had my CDL since '09 but haven't been driving as a primary living the whole time, when I got the job where I'm at now I had't done "CDL" stuff in four years.

But.... maybe I'll give Bettendorf a jingle for funzies.

 

Car,truck,we call it a Caruck. Yes,I'm in 410. Guess Cecil County Dragway gave it away. One last vid,I won't post any more. Wheels up in 3 gears.

 

Ran 300 miles outta the house. Loaded. Ran another 300 miles. I’m whooped.

Rest Area because I can overnight park at my drop in Houston... gotta get the miles down since I’ll be hitting the big H around rush hour.
