Sounds like Calais/Dover in the bad old days, the Brits would fine any driver £2,000 for every migrant found in their load. Since the advent of the X-ray shed they have taken to rubber boats these days.
I bought myself a big padlock for my frigo trailer, took a load into England and came back to Calais empty. Out of hours I parked up on the beach (a truck park) and in the morning found the doors open and the padlock in 2 bits on the ground. They must have thought I was going north, so a small victory for me in spite of the damage.
Of course you don't have that problem with your northern border do you, or do you? Surely not, lovely people Canadians, though I do have 2 exceptions. The lone Quebecois, Igor, who lives in our village. Miserable git who is like that with everybody, not just the Brits. He once took over calling the numbers at the Lotto and all the locals were sniggering at his accent with 'what did he say? what was that?'
The other was the manager of the supermarket store where I had to deliver one day. Backed onto the dock and he said 'you're late, I'm busy, you'll have to wait.' 'Suits me' I said, 'I'm tired I'm going to bed' and locked the doors pulled the curtains and climbed on the bunk. He was back banging on the door 10 minutes later.![]()

Yes cross docking is on American soil. It's just a bonded warehouse where you drop and someone will pick it up and take it into Mexico. Every one I've been to are slow . When I was dropping off spotter trucks I'd be unloading myself and it still took forever. Just know this going in and it's not so bad.cke, exhausted379, CAXPT and 6 others Thank this.

Well that’s good to know, I’ve heard to many stories of another driver taking your trailer over the border, and when it comes back your good tires have been swapped with junk tires. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Rontoio, Wore out, BlairandGretchen, Razorange, Singlescrewshaker, and a few others who are no longer here. I’m not the person they met when someone tries to tear up my equipment, which I’m sure all of us are that way…

Yeah the northern border is a problem too. And I ain’t met but maybe two Canadians who were not complete ### holescke, exhausted379, tramm01 and 10 others Thank this.

Whew! I had visions last night that someone had hoodwinked you into a cross boarder load without getting those ducks in a row. Good to hear that you and the shipper are still in the planning stage.
I'm sure they are checking twice on the technology that can be sent to Mexico unless it is a direct transfer to the same company in Mexico. After it is in Mexico it can be sold then since it would be a item in Mexico. Just saying.
And you probably all ready have this figured out, but the boarder towns on the Mexico side are not the friendly, good time places they use to be.
Sadly. -
What!!! You can’t go to boy’s town anymore??cke, exhausted379, tramm01 and 6 others Thank this.

This will be one area where you will get some of the best Mexican food out of the hot carts and roach coaches. If they pull up and play music you can be assured of good food.
If it is not good the warehouse workers run them off. Cash only please.cke, exhausted379, tramm01 and 5 others Thank this. -
Well... you can, but you might not come back.cke, exhausted379, tramm01 and 6 others Thank this.

It was sketchy 25 years ago. I never went, but it was pretty popular. Used to get a ride and a six pack for 20 bucks I think. Maybe that was in El Paso. I guess Cadillac man is long dead by now.cke, exhausted379, tramm01 and 6 others Thank this.
