I’ve done both, but it was back before you had to get a permit— the other thing is in that country 36 miles in a couple of days on foot — not saying you couldn’t do it, but that’s about all you would do. Might want to look at the Polly Bemus ranch on the main— think they have a pretty good setup and they used to be reasonable— the Shepp has turned into a corporate retreat from what I have heard. It’s been 20 years or better since I’ve run in that country so my information is ancient and probably nowhere close to accurate

I haven't, but I used to work with a fella that has one of the rafting companies in Salmon. Super good guy and a native. I can put you in touch with him if you're interested. His outfit also guides fishing trips.

Any of you have that buddy who is like a brother who will go to any length to make some kids day. Well that is my brother from another Dan.

I have been flyfushing floating with these guys. It was a great trip!

They will pick you up in Stanley and bring you on in.

Kind of expensive but for a bucket list, well worth the money.

Elk back strap, tri-tip and camp taters is what’s on the Christmas menu in the Ho — we’re late, but we’re here

When I found it, it had 4 flat tires and missing steering linkages…..

Yeah, I was figuring it to be about 10 miles in. I was a bit shocked to see I was looking at 36. It was only an inch and a half on the map
... I've got an email out to the Shepp, it looks like they offer drop camps.Best I could tell online, it looks like the Bemis Ranch is now like a high dollar timeshare.
    Thanks for the info!

    That would be awesome! Thanks!

Who did you go with @TX2Day? I'll be packing a fly rod just in case, even if I don't end up floating. I've heard about the fishing, but haven't had a chance to fish it.

GREAT fishing. You have got to bring a fly rod.

Middle Fork Salmon River Rafting Trips - Solitude River Trips

I will start planning an Alaska trip after the first of the year. I want a fresh caught Alaskan King Salmon. Take a picture and have it for dinner and breakfast, smoke the rest!

Sorry I thought I had posted the link. I am sure I have now. (SMH)
