Where is everyone #5

Tryin to keep busy today. Got the 250 outa the shed today for a minute. Finally got the tires all mounted up and looking at placement of the logo on the “new” truck. View attachment 549593

 

Guess I'm digging into another carburetor. Finally got my overhead door hooked back up so I took it out for a quick rip to put some fresh fuel in it. Ran like garbage. One pipe was hot, the other was lukewarm. Pulled the plug and it is dry. Got compression so I guess it's logical to start looking for some plugged jets.

Clear lake, MN is one of my favorites. Joe at the omelette bar in the fuel island is the best in the country. You’re missing out if you’ve never been here for breakfast or the place inside for supper.

 

Put a bit of poultry seasoning on both sides of them and let them sit at room temp for 20 minutes. sear them and turn the burner off as soon as the fat changes color and cover. Check with a thermometer for an internal of 145 minimum after 10 min in the covered cooling pan.

 

Saturday is a good day for those roads…. Sunday might even be better?

 

Little Oldskool knowledge my friend…. Just because a plug fires laying on the engine, doesn’t mean it’s firing under compression. If you have a good plug try it before you tear deeper into it. Not saying the plug is the problem, just check the little things first….

 

I guess that's always possible. I just assumed the carb jets were plugged because the plug was bone dry. Plus my dumb### never got around to draining the carbs or putting fuel stabilizer in the tank before winter. They put that ethanol crap in the gas here. Only place we've confirmed doesn't put ethanol in their 91 is the Co-op, which isn't always possible to get to.
