Route 35 from Ohio over to I-64 gonna have some spots in that will make you want to hurt yourself, it’s that dang rough in places. Especially as you get closer to I-64…..

I’ve bought scrapers, made scrapers out of files, none worked as good as a scraper with a single edge razor blade in it. Get it started on a gasket surface with silicone and keep the handle down to reduce the angle and it will walk a gasket off like putting icing on a cake.
Now if there’s knicks in the metal it will stop you, but if it’s flat it takes the work out of it I promise!!
When I bought my bucket of bolts I found enough red silicone in the oil pan to more than fill a tablespoon. Even the cores in the radiator had some silicone stick in them, it was a mess.
If I use silicone I only apply a very thin layer, and only on the outer 1/2 of the gasket surface, never from the center inwards…. -

Permatex gasket sealer in the can with a brush in the lid. Little dab will do ya.
