I look at the load boards occasionally to fill in the gaps between loads, I’ve seen loads posted for $1.89 mile, who in the world could haul for that?! It’s ridiculous what’s being offered. One thing I’ve noticed too is more comments like… “must speak English, must have more than 1 year authority, must have proper PPE no sandals”.

Loading at the steel plant few years ago, some guy with whatever the religious head gear thing is was arguing with the guard telling him he couldn’t wear a brain bucket because it won’t fit on his head gear. Guard told him to figure a way because if he got a call that he was out of his truck with no hard hat he would be thrown out of the plant no questions asked….

 

At a buck 89 they should be happy that a guy shows up at all

 

Only works if u did a 3 hour break... sometimes I use the 8/2 , but I find sometimes it causes more problems than it's worth. Have missed a couple reloads because of it , but it does have its place

 

Those type of loads always have dumb problems associated with them. Never fails

Hey, not sure who else is running west, so shoot me a PM. I've still got engine troubles and probably won't be able to cover a couple loads for my rock guy.

I think he's gonna have a 2 drop Denver and Boise, and one to Granite in SLC. Both coming out of western AR/eastern OK.

Pays well IMO, and his money is good, blind loads, doesn't want your average driver.

IF she was real i wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers or having an extra digit , hand or foot .

 

if everyone needs a backhaul wouldn't every load be considered a backhaul to someone?

why I never understood the 'oh its my load going home, i'll take it for that' crowd.

Can't speak for everyone else here but when I'm at a customer and the first words from their mouth is something akin to -- "thank god you're here on time, you speak English, and you can mildly drive your truck" I always feel somewhat bad for them. I was in Milton CAT earlier this year -- New Canadian came whipping through the parking lot the wrong direction and proceeded to rip the machine he had -- I think a wheeled excavator -- apart making a turn. He tore the rear end of a brand new 836K apart to boot. I've never seen those guys angry. They were beyond pissed with the non-english speaking ####.
