Wyoming wears me out... heavy rain, some snow, blinding fog, 40+ mph winds. Little bit of everything today... wind continued the whole day. Still managed to do 650 miles with a hour left on the elog. I'll call it a success

Time to relax and destress a bit. I've been going way too hard the last month.

    It's a pickle Jim..
On one hand I like this truck. It's been cheap, reliable, but not powerful.. I know, I know, pick any 2.. lol

It's got an old school vibe with the stripe design, & it's the exact cab I wanted. Interior is all here & in good shape.

I knew buying it future repower choices would be limited. Pulling my step sure, it's slow to speed, but would generally go fast as I wanted to..

This frickin box wagon on the other hand... Got a 9 tall truck with 13'8" (that ain't a typo) box behind er & boy does she catch allllll the wind. Couple that with always being 75-78k some days little as a 20mph side or worse diagonal head/side wind & it's all she can do to run 65mph. Hit a lil roller, even an overpass she might scrub off 10 & I'm grabbing one down.. Step ifta's were in the mid 7's, box I'm mid 4's!!

I'd like to inframe her myself if for nothing else the experience. At that point put a 400-450hp cummins file in her & see how it goes? Just concerned won't be happy still. Guess I could buy my own box & put a bubble on the front, but don't think that will solve too much either..

Just a tire kicker right now,
Really like a nice FLB before I get too old for one..

I know what you mean about pulling boxes with a flat top, my truck ain't under powered but my ifta pulling flats is in the 7's and 1st quarter iftA I just did was 4.63 almost all box work in the wind and cold of MN and ND, didn't help that I tried the smaller tires but looked up last year's 1st quarter iftA and it was 4.99 so yeah vans suck

While it's hard to beat wind drag. Have you tried sliding 5th wheel forward? Get it as close as you can. I will say the nose cones help. If you own the trailer.

It was me and 16 other people in my graduating class. 10 of us started kindergarten together. Class before us had 8 people. We had Chemistry, Calculus, idk all that hard ####. We didn’t have vocational classes like auto mechanics etc. Math, Science and English teachers taught from 7th to 12th grade. Math teacher alsoSpanish. English teacher taught French. Coach drove the bus to sports events. Agri teacher owned a big Ford van to get us to state and National Convention. There was a crabs epidemic in the spring of 1990. Shut the entire High School down. Grades 7 thru 12. Everyone had to play their part

Looking at past auction results, probably $10-15k. Might be one of the ones that goes for $5,500 you never know.

Somewhere along the way I had a FLD 120 with a 435 CAT (I think) with a 70 inch sleeper, and outside of the rattles that was a trouble free truck. It was a flat top, and I'm tall enough so I didn't like that. But that truck took me everywhere and got me home for 5 years before I stepped up to the big league. Best step I ever took.
