Something like this, but no connecting part. The front on the 5th wheel. The tandems load and a short tongue chained around what you are hauling. Parkhill used them running gas line pipe (30"); strung from where they come in at Greenville till they finished in that gas field above West Point. Stacked 3. 2. 1, two chains. IH L180's ,5th OD, and 2 speed. Weight, but no drag. Sped coming up; flew going back empty & stacked on. How I know.. I was running WP to G'ville every Mon and Thur. Tween them and Ferguson Bros F600's pulling red dirt from Carrollton to Leland, to widen US82, it was a rat race... 1953/4
