That is just awesome right there! When life throws a curveball, it’s great friends and neighbors are able to come together and help a friend in need. Great job!

Got one better than that ! Went to bed at the first service plaza on the south end of WV turnpike. Woke up 5 minutes ago got out and looked over my trailer to this site. Counted 11 of them in various stages of inspections. I walked around the truck real quick with my hat pulled down low and prayed my air was built up so I could push the brake buttons in as I hooked it in gear......this outlaw needs to slide outta here !!!!!Last edited: Sep 19, 2018

Picked up a load of crane overflow once in Winchester,VA, going to Texas. Headed down I-81 towards Knoxville, ran around that scale because of my length, then down I -75 towards Chattanooga. This was still back in the 55' overall length days, and Tennesse was probably the toughest state going for enforcement of that. Huge moneymaker for them,$57.25 ticket, paid a few. I had my IH 4300,with a 42' trailer I was 59'. Pulled in the last Tennesse rest area on I-75 late, found a spot on the in ramp, and went to sleep.
Woke up around 9am,looked out my windshield, and the Tenn. DOT had set up a portable scale deal in the rest area right in front of me,all trucks must go through. Now if I fire up,and pull through,I'm guaranteed a length ticket,as they already have a tape laid out on the ground for nailing conventional sleeper trucks. Figured I'd just lay low in my sleeper, and see if I can wait them out. The cops even came back when they were slow, walked around my rig, looking at things, they knew I was overlength, but they never knocked on my door. About 1:00 pm,they folded up and left, lunch I guess. Hauled butt out of there. I know time is money, but sometimes you just can't give them the satisfaction.
Tug Toy,I wish I was closer,I'd be there helping. Love tractor work. Only combine I ever ran was a 2 row Gleaner, lol. But I could handle those gravity wagons.wore out, shogun, IH Truck Guy and 19 others Thank this.
