Tell em once, next time really explain it and the 3rd time send their ### to the house. It sounds harsh but…….the waisted time looking for #### that someone has to eat being the customer or the shop itself says they don’t give a ####. If they don’t give a #### about that then their work is the same way. Even at my age I strive to be better every day. I don’t mean to sound I don’t struggle, I do but it’s not from lack of discipline, pride, or motivation

Older YJ with a CJ front clip look good in my opinion. I’m still stuck in the world of carburetors and distributors too.

They make a reverse kit to change ends with how the shackles mount on the front axle of the CJ, had one on my 1983 CJ7, definitely helps with the ride. The 83 had a 6 cyl with a 5 speed, plenty of power too.

Somewhere around 83-84 they went to wide trak axles, easy to identify since they use smaller lock in / lock out hubs. Unlike the narrow trak which uses hubs like we had growing up in our trucks and scouts.

I have a parts book in there in my library that my father in law gave me with the CJ5, I’ll take some pictures and show you here after bit, wow how prices and designs have changed lol…..

I started stacking their crap right in front of their tool boxes. They don't like that much lol.

It’s definitely an ordeal to change a yj or TJ to locking hubs. I thought about it for a brief minute. I like the leaf spring suspension of the cj and yj. But I absolutely hate the square head lights of a yj.

Seen what I thought was a CJ7 at Jane Lew couple years ago, until I looked at the dash as I spoke to the man behind the wheel. Turns out he put a CJ front clip on his YJ. Newer components with oldskool looks….

I chuckled at the newer comment. A YJ is at least 32 years old now

Yea guess you’re right lol, still newer to me.

I did a transmission job on a YJ for a freind few years ago, when I test drove it I actually was impressed with its handling. The 4 banger did a decent job turning the 35’s on it, but I never took it out on the big road either so that may have proved different….
