There is about a three-week period in the spring when it is still green and the seed hasn't developed that some folks are trying to graze it on their allotments. They have to work with the Bureau of Land Management to adjust their turn-out dates. It certainly won't eradicate Cheat Grass, but they may get some use out of it.
I didn't know that you guys had it that far north.

It can be controlled but if left unchecked it's s real headache. Like foxtail it'll get into livestocks eyes and just push in deeper and deeper because of the barbs. Causing infections. Downy brome is what we call it up here.
