Much like the one Ellis had, larger base/tread, and the torch hung off the back as it went forward. Left a few spots to keep it together till ended. Cut loose by hand...

Middle of the night. Bad roads? Jackknife. The last thing you should ever want to do is bottleneck traffic. When you see the big multi vehicle crashes on video, you will see a car or a truck slow down and stop IN THE TRAVEL LANE. The idiot not paying attention will feel the need to thread the needle. On icy roads. While driving too fast for conditions.
Redbeard was demonstrating a definite veteran move to keep both his rig safe AND aiding public safety at the same time. When the blues show up, he will park to bottleneck traffic (flashing blues work much better than the reds and ambers), jump out with his hi vis PPE and take over traffic control. Jim can walk to his truck and take off with zero problem.beastr123, Gatordude, broke down plumber and 9 others Thank this. -
I remember when that system was devised and offered for sale. Saw pics of demos of a jeep pulling a 2 bottom 10 inch, Ford 8N/3 point hitch plow assembly.
Think a problem was the hold down weight and tire grip. Jeep did not have the "constant draft" feature on the tractor.
But like all "All in Ones," there are "Many One's it can't do.". Crescent never open quite enough and Rigid or Stillson chews up the work as it does it.Gatordude, broke down plumber, CAXPT and 5 others Thank this. -
I know the cut makes a difference. The flat is going to hold together better than the point but it's going to have less fat in it so it's a little tough.Gatordude, broke down plumber, CAXPT and 7 others Thank this.

Do you know when the Blue light for responding vehicles was officially changed. I was running cattle; NE MS to Waterloo in say 55/56, and blue was strictly snowplow..... Went in the Army for 3 and came out to Blue....Gatordude, broke down plumber, CAXPT and 9 others Thank this.

In 2018, a friend from Detroit and I met up in EffinghamIL to ride to Vegas. First time in the Rockies on a motorcycle. Stopped off at Glenwood hot springs and saw Doc Holiday’s grave. We decided on the return trip to stop in Tombstone and have a beer for Doc and the gang.
Some of the places you go into give that Déjà vu feeling from the movie. Went to the OK Corral to pour out a beer in the dirt and saw “Tombstone Harley Davidson” tee shirt shop. I don’t usually buy any clothing from Harley, BUT I had to buy the Tombstone tee and poker chip.Gatordude, broke down plumber, CAXPT and 9 others Thank this. -
Snow can do. Spring breakup the 8-axle sits out and whines drives me nuts. We were debating this morning whether there will be any restrictions at all this year. Nothing on the ground at Weippe todayGatordude, broke down plumber, Big Road Skateboard and 7 others Thank this.
