Yeah, I've tried 3 times to get away from it, longest I have been out of the truck is 3 years, have tried just about every way of driving to from food service, to dirt, local stuff. Always end up back on open deck and it's where I started and about the only thing I am even close to happy doing. For me I don't know what it is, I just tell people I haven't decided what I want to do when I grow up, seems like I am just happier in the truck by myself and might never grow up.

Nice place and people. On their North location it's full of non English speaking drivers. They have a neat clean facility. Probably the nicest restrooms at a warehouses I have ever experienced. Yet in broad daylight last week, a driver got thrown out for taking a dump in the parking lot. He no understand. Security guy said he didn't wipe. Pulled up pants and got in truck.OLDSKOOLERnWV, exhausted379, cke and 10 others Thank this. -

If she still has some control, and is physically able, therapy now can do wonders.
A woman doctor sat in front of me on a stool and asked: Mr. Johnson, what is your goal here . I said: Well, to get well and go home, how long is it gonna take?
She said; " If you will do as we say, I may not bring you all the way back, but I will bring you as far as you can be brought."
That was in 2013, I had stroked out R side, Had to be lifted up, wrestled and dressed and to therapy. 8 to 12, wheelchair to lunch (tube fed), 1 to 4 back in therapy. Here they had one person work you on one thing for 45 min, then another doing something else, etc all the day.
I left 2 months later walking on a simple walker, but COULD NOT SWALLOW.
Another month at home with detailed 2 a week I was able to swallow a shard of ice. A shard, so it you can't swallow, it will melt and not choke.
So all that: It is like our Baptist saying on "Getting Saved".. All you need is a little "Want Too." If you can move, and do what they say/show/demand,you can recover. Each will vary... But life varies every day.Last edited: Feb 18, 2026
