Milestones come in all sizes. Once gained, they can't take them away. It is the near crashes you can remember the most tho.

 

I’ll share some pics along the way for sure. Talked to the owner again yesterday on the phone, he has found a lot of pictures and paperwork his dad had on the rig, including some information on the engine. Been trying to nail down the exact year of the engine, so far I’m hearing it’s around a 1915 model. Waiting to hear from the guy who has access cards to the Bessemer engines, hopefully it will show the date it was sold….

That boy is going to have a teabbagging problem is he is not careful.

 

U guys got any tips to get these boots to seal up right? Noticed yesterday when i went for a cruise. Sounded like i had a bit of a boost leak . These dont seem like they have a good seal on them. Should i just buy new boots all around and new clamps? not sure how old these ones are

 

IME, If you can move the stud of the clamp by hand, they're loose enough to leak.

 

Don't know how good my advice is, I'm shadetree at best . I'd get new ones with clamps , clean the mounting surface good.
Keep a old one with clamps in the truck for a emergency spare. I had one blow out last year, got all new ones when I got home. Don't know which ones are any better but the ones I got are blue not orange like the ones that came on the engine.

 

I use dish soap on them. Makes it nice and slick to put on, then when it dries it kind of acts like glue/sealer. It doesn't stick hard enough to make it hard to get them apart, just helps hold them from slipping without having to overtighten clamps and crush the tubes.

 

I use dish soap and double clamp. Tighten nut down till spring collapses don’t over tighten. However check em every couple days for a few days
