I had one , mine was a KT 450.
The KTA's were 525 and 600 hp.
I think there was some industrial ones up to 800 hp. They were decent engines although heavy and the liners had to be set just perfect. They had six individual heads and were bad about blowing head gaskets. All things considered you'd be better off with a Cat with a good tune. Just my opinion.
I'd hate to have to feed a 19 L with today's prices. -

Kinda upgraded the generator for my ac unit. Previously had a 3500 watt Predator on there with remote start added. No remote start on this one, but it barely notices the ac cycling on and off, which is nice.
Ignore the beat to snot headache rack. Still havent drilled the final hole to mount the brackets for the tool box on the right side.
Been home a week, better get my lazy A back out there.exhausted379, Gatordude, CAXPT and 6 others Thank this. -
Well, I’m probably a little different than most I don’t know. Uncle Lester always taught me to get out and look if I had doubts, and I still do when backing up, and will jump out and move something if it looks hazardous to my truck.
That being said, my worst experience was at the steel mill I hauled out of, all because of boneheads. Those titanium and monel chips / turnings from the lathes they had were bad for getting in tires. How did they get out in the road…? Well, that’s where the bonehead comment comes in. Once the bin was full coming off the conveyor they moved them around the plant with forklifts, solid tire 5000 & 10,000 lb fork lifts. Road is rough and they just run through there there shaking the sh## out of those bins with cuttings flying everywhere!! You can’t always see them either.
Odd things including what turned out to be a push rod from an engine has been pulled out of my tires in that plant.
The place I initially load at here close to home is small and all concrete, they do pretty good at keeping it clean.
I have to blindside back from the main road down the left side of the big green roofed building across the scales (red) then between the 2 buildings to the loading area, you can see the trailer setting parallel to the narrow green building on the right side…..
