When pulling stretched loads, occasionally I would run into people who would refuse to move, for the simple reason to be a Picklebrain. When i40 was under construction in Arkansas, the state routed all OSOW across 64 to the north and 70 to the south. Common unwritten rule in OSOW is allow the bigger load to go first. Easiest thing to do. Almost every bridge on a 2 lane in Arkansas is a “skinny bridge,” or zero shoulder. You HAVE TO share the road.
Occasionally, I would run into a Picklebrain. They could easily share the road, but they have it out to be a prick. Set the brakes and wait for the blues to show up. Suddenly they are in an argument with the blues about ‘being in their lane’ and refusing to move. Cop will try to explain to them that driving is not a right, but a privilege. Usually, a Picklebrain will become cooperative with the blues, but some have to be taken out and vehicle removed.Tug Toy, MACK E-6, JolliRoger and 9 others Thank this. -

Found what was wrong with the haul truck for them to auction it? -
Sounds good and if crews stay healthy; fuel prices drop back to reasonable, might take the bank a little... -
Case in point.. Ex MS Gov Kirk Fordice; Who owned Fordice Construction in Vicksburg, always loaded his on barges and pushed across the MS river to avoid year end tax in MS. (Before he had the wreck up around Southaven with another woman in the car),
I understand the former Mrs Fordice is in charge of a lot of the company now. Maybe she does the same thing still. -
The money comes from a community fund.
All the families put money in a pool. When the pool gets big enough, they make loans from it to other family members. They have to bid on the money. They have to give the amount they want to borrow, the interest rate they will pay and how long. Then all the other families vote on the deal.
If approved, they get the money, if not they have to wait for the next round.
