Any road that is not used by tourists, is a rough road. Wyoming claims they don’t have any money to repair them. Makes me wonder where all the money from the energy companies went.singlescrewshaker, Tug Toy, CAXPT and 7 others Thank this.

Right now the big thing here is a data center that got approved by the county commissioners. I think it mostly passed because they are desperate for any new tax revenue even if it isn't popular.
And last year a penny sales tax got shot down for a new rec center. Part of it was $3M for new fire trucks. Now they have a separate vote coming for new fire trucks all by itself but now it's $13.2M. Someone's math is off.
There was a big drop in ad valorem tax revenues from the coal mines over the last few years and it's just now starting to get worse as far as highway repair budgets go.singlescrewshaker, Tug Toy, exhausted379 and 11 others Thank this. -

I'll take a rough road vs camper season every day of the week
There's a spot on the west side of the river there where I can back into, then walk down to the river to fish, and pick morels at the right time of year.
Only thing to watch out for are the rattlers. No folks besides a boat every now and then fishing to the bridge.singlescrewshaker, Tug Toy, CAXPT and 9 others Thank this. -
Think all states that have relied heavily upon the extraction industries are feeling some pressure. We have some of the same issues here. The hidden side of data centers are the tax incentives, rebates and other discounts the state has offered to them. Here, no sales tax on anything purchased for a data center. That’s everything, from materials for building it, to the items put in it. Property tax discounts and rebates. These developments have a complex and convoluted financial structure, yet somehow they claim it will generate revenue to the local and state government. The taxpayers will benefit……singlescrewshaker, exhausted379, CAXPT and 4 others Thank this.

Wife sent me a pic of this service call she sent the son on. Driver was following his phone, got off at Exit 24 on 40 at Mulberry and was planning to come out at the Mountainburg exit on 49.
He ran out of fuel at the old Millsap gas station. He'd lose the reefer through the woods there.
