One night I get a call from an off duty cop about a couple walking down the highway, he says he talked to them and the man had a knife in his pocket, just be careful. I say ok, go out to the highway and find them. He has an ID on him, check him and he doesn’t have any outstanding warrants.
The woman is being vague about who she is, says she is from a nearby town. I can’t get any kind of information back based on what she is telling me, so I call my friend who works night shift. He had retired from the city PD where she lives and he knows just about everyone, I put them both in the patrol car and I ask him to meet me out by the industrial park.

I pull up, say hey do you know this lady? He opens the door, shines his flashlight on her and says “oh, that’s So and So. She’s got AIDS.” I grab my hand sanitizer thinking “great, I’ve touched her and some of her stuff.” The man in the back seat bursts into tears “Oh my God, AIDS!! Oh my God!!!” He is crying uncontrollably for a few minutes, then he musters an “I still love you. I still want to marry you.” She never says a word the whole time.

So we talk a few more minutes about some random stuff, dude in the backseat still having a major emotional breakdown thinking he’s got AIDS. Then my friend opens the door all of the sudden, and I kid you not, says “wait a minute, that’s So and So. She doesn’t have AIDS. She steals from the elderly.” I have to get out of the car I am laughing so hard, and to this day, I still don’t know if he was screwing with them intentionally or not.

 

Didn't make Arab, layin down at the coop in Iuka. Sleeping at a coop. Well I ain't never.......

 

Happy for ya! Kinda sucks though because they won’t deliver Yeungling up here! Need some Bootleggers!
