    Must be nice....we get oilfield pipe almost daily from 1" to 24", aluminum 6" thin wall tubing/25 pieces to a skid, had a piece of 18" stainless heavy wall pipe today....and it never fails the break-bulk has it up on racks! LOL

    He had me give him a receipt on my company letterhead showing he paid for the damaged freight.
    It'll all work out in the end. I've had a lot of stuff show up damaged over the years, but never had a driver offer to pay for it. I just thought it was odd.

    It’s definitely sounding odd to me.

    The bigger companies have insurance for this sort of thing.

    The places I haul Sheetrock to try to get the driver who damaged the board to buy the damaged sheets. Since all they want is money and it's less paperwork and hassle to sell it than file a claim. But I've never heard of a carrier with the policy of paying for damaged freight on the spot.
